DCTC Soccer Finishes Season In Playoffs

The Dakota County Technical College soccer program finished its year with playoff appearances for both squads and optimism about the upcoming season.

In postseason action Oct. 29 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the men’s team took on a powerful Iowa Western Community College squad on its home field. The Blue Knights fought hard and played IWCC evenly throughout the game, but ended up losing 1-0. The men’s team finished off its second season with a respectable 12-8-1 record.

The women’s team also traveled to Council Bluffs to play a very tough 13-1-3 IWCC squad, subsequently losing 7-0, and ending the team’s third season with a 8-9-2 record.

Despite the playoff losses suffered by both teams, Coach Cam Stoltz said he has enjoyed working with the young Blue Knight athletes and looks forward to building an even stronger program in the upcoming year.

“I was impressed with how both of our teams came together this season and showed they can compete with the best teams in the conference,” said Head Coach Cam Stoltz. “There were many bright points this season that we will build upon as we look to 2006. Many of our best players will be back and eager to win.”
