Blue Knights Women Fall To Top-Ranked Schoolcraf

Appearing in the NJCAA playoffs for the second-consecutive season, the Blue Knights women’s soccer team was defeated 6-1 by top-ranked Schoolcraft Community College (20-0-0) on Saturday, Nov. 6. This appearance in NJCAA District Semifinal moved their second-season winning record to 10-9-1 overall.

The Blue Knights fell behind early when Schoolcraft scored four unanswered goals in the first half. Picking themselves up for the second half of what would be their last game of the season, DCTC’s Caitlin Kasper notched a goal for the Knights in the 71st minute on a corner kick. SCC tallied two more goals in the second half to seal the win.

Schoolcraft, with a perfect record this year, went on to defeat the Illinois Skyway Conference Champion, Elgin Community College, on Sunday by a score of 7-1. SCC is ranked #1 in the nation in the NJCAA coaches’ poll and will compete in the National Tournament Nov. 18-21 in Phoenix.
