The Blue Knights women’s soccer team bounced back well from its loss at Macalester Tuesday, dominating the Gustavus Adolphus JV squad 4-1 Thursday night. The Blue Knights’ Hillary Keefer and Becca Noonan scored quickly in the away match, reaching the Gusties’ net in the fourth and eighth minutes.
The team’s 2-0 halftime lead enabled Coach Cam Pagani to bring more Blue Knights into the game during the second half. Keefer and Noonan each added another goal in the second half to build a 4-0 lead before Gustavus’ Erin Kasper scored late in the game for the home team. (Erin Kasper is the sister of Blue Knight Caitlin Kasper).
The Blue Knights head home to Apple Valley next Monday with a rematch against the St. Olaf JV squad at 7 p.m. at Johnny Cake Ridge Park. DCTC defeated the Oles 3-1 on Sept. 22 in Northfield. Other upcoming home matches include Oct. 11 vs. North Iowa (7 p.m.) and Oct. 15 vs. Rochester (7 p.m.)
