Mondays are usually dedicated on this blog to Mom Enough (ME). However, today’s post has been hijacked to report the status of SkillsUSA at DCTC. ME will return to this blog on Wednesday instead.

Let me back up – Our school did pretty well at the State Competition. I’m so very proud of all of the students at DCTC involved in Skills. I’m especially proud of the students in our Early Childhood program that chose to compete this year. The students that place first at the state competition are invited to compete at the national competition in Kansas City, MO. Check out this VIDEO about the SkillsUSA National Conference.

That brings us to the present – About 24 of us (students and advisors) are on our way to Nationals! We are looking forward to the adventure ahead. The students have been diligently preparing for this week. They’re ready to continue to work hard and to show their perseverance, talent, skills, creativity, and professionalism. After their competitions are completed, there may even be some time for FUN!

Even though you’re not in attendance with us, you can follow our progress. (Please do!) I’ll be tweeting during the week.  You can also watch the awards ceremony LIVE on Friday, June 28th beginning at 5 p.m. (CDT) at THIS WEBSITE. Our program competition is called Early Childhood Education.
