Our December Guest Speaker, Molly Eiche, is sponsoring this giveaway of a Bare Hearts Separation Kit. What a powerful and therapeutic tool for children!
Bare Hearts are designed to help families cope with separation by allowing children and loved ones to write notes or drawings to the person they are missing or place photographs in a special pouch inside of the bear.
Each bear has an instructional booklet that will help illustrate how to use Bare Hearts and how Bare Hearts can help families cope with separation and/or their loss. Bare Hearts are a memory keepsake designed to provide comfort during times of need.
Many hospitals and organizations across the country have indicated they would like to include Bare Hearts in their programs to help children and their families during difficult times of separation and grief/loss. However, they are lacking the funding to incorporate these therapeutic tools into their programs. If YOU are interested in learning more about contributing to the Adopt a Bare Heart program, click HERE.

I love, love, love this idea! What a great way to express feelings for a child!
My husband was a police officer for 30 years in Eagan. Whenever children were involved in a car accident or traumatic incident, the officers’ always carried donated teddy/stuffed animals around in their trunks. I know the comfort they bring. I am very happy to hear of your organization and I hope you are successful. If I win the bear, I will donate it to a child who needs it.
I think a bear heart buddy is very useful to help children express their feelings and so that they have someone to talk to if they need to talk to someone.
I have never heard of this before! What a great idea! I love this blog! i have learned some very important and useful things from this blog! thanks Dawn
What an awesome idea! As I read more into to how the bears are used, it brought tears to my eyes. All I could think about were children…not only those that have lost a love one or sick, but those who are emotional, social, intellectual, spirtual, and of course those with physical needs. I love the idea of the bear, and I know this product will do well. And I will be watching for other products maybe even a buddy doll for the older children. (My son would have alot to tell that doll about me on those days when he’s not so happy with me…lol.)
These are so cute, they will be so helpful for Child Life.
These are very neat. It lets kids express themselves in writing when it may be difficult to express themselves verbally.
I love the idea of having a pocket over the bear’s heart to put messages in to cheer up the patient. I can see this as a Child Life prize.
As I study for the Language and Lit final, I am also seeing this as a great way to encourage literacy in the child even when they are in the hospital.
