I am very honored to introduce September’s guest speaker: Sarah Mendivel. Sarah is a Child Life Specialist and is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the LightSpinner Quarterly Magazine.

Mission & Vision
Light Spinner Quarterly (LSQ) was created to start a dialogue between child life specialists about their practices through content and resources, but also helps to educate the world at large about who we are and what we’re doing.

Sarah Mendivel founded LSQ in October 2010 and holds a Masters degree in Child Life. LSQ is headquartered in Chicago, IL and is currently read in Japan, New Zealand, Canada, Africa and the US.

Wow! Isn’t that great? Sarah and I met this past May in Chicago, IL at the Child Life conference. She occupied a table (with great music), handing out free copies of the first issue of LSQ. Little did I know that was the beginning of neat friendship.

The LSQ second issue is being published as this moment…and there’s a special picture hidden inside that’s dear to my heart. (I can’t wait to get my copy!) You may also be interested to know that our child life assistant program is going to be highlighted in the 3rd issue! (coming out in Dec) Hurray!
