Students at DCTC- No class today! That’s because it’s a required Duty Day for faculty. I will be at Minneapolis Community & Technical College for the day at the Promising Practices for Student Success Conference. It’s an opportunity for us to network, share ideas, learn new techniques, etc. to improve our teaching, as well as student learning 🙂

This year, I also have the opportunity to present during a couple sessions. The name of my sessions are Building Your Blog. Go figure, right? I’m looking forward to it and hopefully others will see the benefits of blogging for their programs.

What’s YOUR favorite thing(s) about this blog? (As a reader, student, parent, provider, etc.) What are some things you’d like to see modified or added? Please comment below 😉

It was a great conference! Many great ideas about promoting student success were shared. I was able to network with others and even connected with a future guest speaker for the blog 😉

Thanks for presenting today. While I will not now start one, I am subscribing to a few in my field, Sociology. I will also promote them to my students and again push the college to get one going. Thanks again!

    Donovan,
You are very welcome. I’m glad that you felt inspired to seek out and subscribe to a few blogs in your field! Good idea to share them as resources with your students. Good luck with your blogging endeavors.

  4. Terrific presentations at the conference Dawn! Often I am the one standing before the social media uninitiated, expounding upon its virtues and demystifying it. It was refreshing to be in the audience for once and to listen to someone who is doing such an excellent job with their blog and program. Your hard work is something to be emulated!

P.S. Notice I linked my website? (wink wink) 😉

Stephen- Thank you for the kind words and I did noticed the link! In fact, I visited YOUR blog and commented there too…and of course, left MY link 😉
