National Child Development Associate (CDA) For-Credit Training Program

Dakota County Technical College is pleased to announce our new CDA training program. This program is designed for individuals that need to complete the training requirements for the CDA credential.  Students will be provided with  information on the procedure necessary in contacting the Council for Professional Recognition to complete other requirements for the CDA credential.

·         Courses are offered on-line only

·         Students need to contact to enroll in program

·         Student need to achieve a minimum score of 35 on the ACCUPLACER English scores or will need to complete developmental English courses before enrolling in the CDA training program

·         Courses will be offered during fall and spring semester

·         Students must take CDEV2890 Special Topic-Professional Resources (1 credit) when enrolling in the program

·         Length of program is 10 credits

·         Current tuition rates for 2009-2010 are approximately $175.00 –textbooks are approximately $50-$100/course and will be available through the college bookstore

·         Students may be eligible for T.E.A.C.H. scholarship or 651.403.1639 X109 for more information

·         Courses will transfer to DCTC’s Child Development diploma and associate degree programs

§   CDEV2980 Professional Resources -1 credit 

§  CDEV1210 Foundations of Child Development-(3 credits)

§  CDEV1230 Guidance and the Environment- (4 credits)

§  CDEV2980  Parent and Professional Relations-(2 credits)
