Emerging Leader Program
The Emerging Leader program gives students the skills and confidence to prepare them for their career after school. Students will participate in monthly meetings with a cohort of other student leaders.
Help learners develop awareness of and improve proficiency in the essential skills for success in the workforce—regardless of their industry of interest or professional path
Encourage learners to identify personal strengths and challenges within these skillsets and identify practices and techniques to help them grow
Prepare learners to step more confidently into an interview-setting—empowered to answer application and interview questions with demonstrated knowledge of interpersonal and team-based skills required for workforce success
The course is broken into five lessons with learner workbooks and course-based discussion guides on the following skills:
Communicating with Purpose (Verbal and Nonverbal Communication)
Next-Level Listening (Listening)
The Art of Feedback (Giving and Receiving Feedback)
Building a Dream Team (Team-Building and Development)
Inspiring Collaboration (Collaboration)
The Emerging Leader program is offered by LeadMN and is open to all currently registered students at DCTC at no cost to the student. The $20 fee to attend is paid for through your Student Activity fee.
