Imagine using the structure of a pollen particle as the basis for a building’s structure.

This is a topic Michael Pawlyn talks about in a video clip called “Using Nature’s Genius in Architecture”. He speaks about getting a closer look at the way nature works and how it handles different situations. While observing our natural surroundings, we can learn to utilize more effective ways of building.

The three main changes Michael hits are increases in resource efficiency, going to a “closed loop” rather than a “linear” use of materials, and transferring the reliance of fossil fuel over to solar energy. With these goals, we can produce less waste,  less pollution, and improve our ways of life as well as our environment.

His video is about 13 minutes long, but it gives a different view on how to work along side with nature.
