  • Barack Obama’s favorite reads

Our new president loves to read, and his eloquence as a speaker reflects his love of words. Obama wrote this about an important realization he had in college: “With the right words everything could change -— South Africa, the lives of ghetto kids just a few miles away, my own tenuous place in the world.”

Here are some of President Obama’s favorite books, as compiled by Hennepin County Library from various sources.
