Steven Bezanson is a biomedical equipment technology instructor. He became a full-time teacher at DCTC in 2005.
Steve became an electronics expert while serving in the U.S. Navy. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration.
He brings a tremendous amount of industry experience to his classroom.
"I believe that every person has it within them to succeed," says Steve, regarding his teaching philosophy. "Therefore, I work with the student to achieve that success.
"Failure is only possible if the student gives up. The student will have 100 percent of my effort to help them achieve their goal.
"That means I don't give A's or B's. Students earn them, and any student can earn an A if they are willing to do the work and put up with my nagging."
Steve refers to the movie The Princess Bride to define his theory of success.
Buttercup (Robin Wright): We'll never succeed. We may as well die here.
Westley (Cary Elwes): No, no. We have already succeeded.
The best part of Steve's job as a DCTC instructor is watching one of his students go from "I can't do this!" to "I get it!"
"That is the best reason for getting up and going to work I have ever had," he says.
Steve's hobbies include reading, home remodeling, woodworking, and testing recliners on Sundays.
