East Central Energy supports education of Jeremy Salokar

Jeremy Salokar | DCTC Electrical Lineworker student

DCTC Electrical Lineworker Instructor Steve Addy reported that one of his students, Jeremy Salokar, 24, of Schafer, Minn., received a $2,000 scholarship from East Central Energy, a member-owned electric cooperative headquartered in Braham, Minn. ECE provides electric service to private residences, farms and businesses in east central Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.

“Jeremy is a great student,” said Addy. “One reason he qualified for the scholarship is that his grandfather lives on an ECE line.”

Salokar graduated from Chisago Lakes High School in Lindström, Minn., in 2005. He has a 70-mile roundtrip commute to DCTC. After graduating, he plans to start out as a journeyman at a power company on his way to a rewarding career as a professional lineworker.”
