Volleyball Topples Riverland in Debut Match

Blue Knights take three straight games from Blue Devils

Women’s volleyball at Dakota County Technical College played the first match of the team’s inaugural season Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, against the Riverland Community College Blue Devils, taking the match in three straight games, 25–20, 26–24, 25–19. The Blue Knights debuted at home at the High Performance Center in Eagan, Minn.

The following day, Saturday, Aug. 27, the team traveled to Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minn., to participate in the Ridgewater College Classic. The Blue Knights lost their first match of the tournament to the Dawson Community College Buccaneers, 12–25, 23–25, 26–28. The Central Lakes College Raiders defeated DCTC in three games in the next match, 21–25, 18–25, 21–25.

The Knights are 1–2 on the season as of Aug. 29. They play their next match against the Bismarck State College Mystics at the High Performance Center Friday, Sept. 2, at 6:30 p.m.
