Backpack Safety
School is just around the corner and that means back to school shopping. Usually, one of the items included in the shopping list is a backpack. How do you determine which one to purchase? Price? Color/Design? Fit? Is the choice up to the parent or the child?
I personally have found that although Pottery Barn Kids may be a bit more expensive, their backpacks are built to last. Not only are they durable, they are supportive and designed with smaller bodies in mind. The last one that we bought worked for over two years. In fact, it’s still in good condition, but my son has outgrown it.
KidsHealth has posted an article regarding backpack safety. There’s more than just color or name-brand style to consider. Your child is going to wear that backpack twice a day, every week day, 9 months out of the year, for 12 years! It’s important to consider the fit and how it affects their body. Did you know there can be consequences to having a backpack with a bad fit?
