- Children’s Paper Faces Project We want to make sure elected officials know that early childhood is the best investment for our state. We ask parents to help their child make paper faces to bring to the Capitol to give to the Governor and key leaders. There will be a place in the Rotunda to bring the faces. If you are unable to visit the Capitol on Voices Day, make your face ahead of time and mail it to your legislator. Go to www.leg.state.mn.usto find the address of your elected official.Help your child decorate the face and include his or her name and age along with a favorite sport or activity and healthy food.Use this template as a guide or get creative with your own. You may want to add words like, “We need your support to fully fund early care and education!” or “Step up for me!”
We hope you’ll make time to join us. Our elected officials need to hear from you. If you’re not able to make it to the Capitol, be sure to call your legislators and tell them to pursue opportunities to support and invest in early care and education.
